This advertisement is about the stereotypes of a woman on birth control. When birth control of introduced it came a stigma. The stigma was that any woman on birth control was a very wild woman. Currently, this stereotype has diminished due to the positive health results from the use of birth control, but there are those who maintain their conservative thoughts.
The advertisement shows a woman surrounded by four men as if she is enticing them all. The verbiage “That’s right boys I’m on the pill!” makes it seem like the woman is advertising herself since she is on the pill. The men are excited and even touching her. There are two reviews on the advertisement from magazines with risqué names such as “Beach Blanket Bimbo” and “How to Stuff a Wild Bikini.” The last stereotype is that doctors are male. In older advertisements it was perceived that women are nurses and doctors are males.
